The Wyzenbeek Method

Rubs along the warp and weft of a sample in a vertical motion.

Results are identified in “Double Rubs” One double rub indicates sliding in then out of a piece of furniture.

For Heavy usage Wyzenbeek recommends a minimum of 30,000 Double Rubs

The Martindale Method

This method uses an Oscillating test.

Fabric samples are mounted on a flat surface and rubbed in a figure 8 motion.

Results are identified in Cycles. For Heavy usage

Martindale recommends a minimum of 40,000 cycles.
